A poem about one of my favorite musicians, Canadian fiddler Natalie MacMaster . . .

For Natalie MacMaster

In seemingly tame packages,
there can be found great things.
Like a light little fiddle all wrapped up with strings.
Threatening it is not, at least not at first sight.
But set a bow on those strings, and you'll be dancing all night.

Just like the violin, you'll be dancing with Natalie.
Like her fiddle, she's blonde and sweet as can be.
Don't let the sweetness fool you, once she starts to play
She'll keep your feet moving all night and all day.

Look at her step-dancing!
Watch her work those strings!
The smiles on folks' faces shows the joy that she brings.
So let's go see a Natalie concert
We'll have so much fun
When it comes to fiddle playing,
she's Number One!
